If you try to understand people by listening and interacting with them, you are so many steps towards avoiding racism. The more you get to know someone, the more you become closer and see them as worthy of being part of the community. Ask about them, their ideas, cultures, and everyday life experiences.

    3)    Try To Learn More About Racism

Just because you have decided not to be a racist does not mean you sit and watch other people do it. Defend your friends of color by getting your family, friends, and other people within your community to think positively about people of different races.

    5)    Report

Racism can bring you division in an institution and other public places. It can also lead to unnecessary fights and even bullying, especially in schools. The best thing to do when it reaches this point is to report before things get out of hand. There are many organizations and government institutions that can help fight racism. Reporting to them will be a good idea.

Racism does not only affect the people of color, but the racists also get affected. Therefore, we should all work hard to avoid it.
