Yet earlier this week, just hours prior to when the updated Runelite HD was due for an official release The 117 team was contacted Jagex in a letter requesting that work cease immediately and that the release be cancelled. However, this time it's not down to copyright issues, but rather because Jagex has stated that they're preparing themselves an HD upgrade.
Although it sounds fair initially however, there's a big problem. Runelite HD doesn't actually seem to break any of Jagex's modding guidelines. The firm says that it's coming out with new guidelines clarify that Runelite HD does actually break its rules will be out in the coming week.
Mod creator 117 claims they tried to compromise with Jagex by offering to remove their mod once Jagex was finished the release of their efforts However, "they declined outright," apparently announcing the end for a project that had taken up "approximately about 2000 hours of work over two years."The Duel Arena was shut down (and was demolished!) in the beginning of the year with some modifications made in November. The number of scams and RMT spammers started making an old-fashioned requirement to be changed. But those changes were designed to act as an initial step toward a complete replacement. This replacement is intended to be more secure yet nonetheless designed to let players enjoy the challenges (and the rewards) that come with good competition.
